   Dry Toilets

   Where in the World
      Are They Found?

What This Page Covers...
This page is under development and will have material added bit-by-bit.  It will show where throughout the world the dry toilet technology is being installed and used.

Most often we find it in parts of the world that did not have adequate sanitation.  There the challenge is not only to martial the resources and know-how, but to convince people that it will be better than the pit latrines they have been using

This approach is also being used in developed countries, primarily in camping, rural or "off-the-grid" projects, or where adding another toilet to existing sewage systems is too expensive.  In these cases the challenge is not so much the resources required but convincing people that it will be as good or better than the flush toilets they are accustomed to.

Countries List:  Probably many more countries should be included, but reports have been published about dry toilets recently built in these countries.
